Split ends are quite common when it comes to hair dilemmas. Many hang on to hopes that split ends can be repaired. The reality is that there is no permanent fix (Journal of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, pg. 263- 286, 1987).
Let us explore the reasons why split ends should be cut off.
Splits in the hair shaft occur when the protective cuticle (outer covering) has been stripped away from the ends of hair fibers. This damage continues with time which means that the split will travel up causing further damage. If split ends are not cut off they become longer, larger, and wider!

We’ve seen many products claiming to be the remedy to split ends, but don’t let false advertising fool you into not trimming. Always keep in mind that you need to cut it!
